Botanical garden – experience of the senses
The botanical garden on the Gugl counts among the most beautiful enclosures in Europe. Spread over 4.2 hectares approximately 10,000 plant varieties can be admired. Five greenhouses hold a pride of exotic plants. The garden with its collection of unique cacti is among the foremost in Europe. A highlight of the site is an array of rare wild and cultivated orchids. Special events and exhibitions round the year keep on providing for special acticities.
The botanical garden in Linz combines nature and culture. Sculptures from Austrian artists in the midst of the greenery and a diverse and varied programme of seminars, exhibitions and events make the garden a place for the encounter of man and nature. During the summer months, concerts and readings on the open air stage are on the programme. This provides space for 100 visitors and is a compelling cultural experience in an outdoor ambience. Culinary delights are provided by the Cafe Orchidee with a terrace and view of the garden.
The botanical garden lets you experience nature in theory and in practice. A modern seminar room provides a place for lectures, presentations and exhibitions. Regular lectures or guided tours are held. Experts are on site to answer all questions for the hobby gardener. The seminar room can also be rented and is available for external events, birthday parties or weddings.
